English Student at SOAS University of London, and aspiring writer hoping to shed light on stories often obscured from the mainstream...

I knew that at one point in my life I wanted to create a place for writing, although I was not always sure on what subject. Growing up I've witnessed the significance and impact stories can have. To have the privilege to listen and read stories which are created and told by people who look like me is something both powerful and essential, so I'm glad I am now part of the process of delivering this experience to others.

Success! Message received.

Coming to the UK was a life changing event for me. For the first time I was exposed to the concepts of race and becoming racialized, I was confronting new identities which I found difficult to grapple with. However, I am grateful for Black creatives who equipped me with the tools to come to terms with who I was. So I guess this was what inspired me to get involved with the project that is Dashiki and Mom Jeans. This platform is as much a space for my self-discovery as it is a platform for for our readers to navigate their own identities.
